Our Philosophy

At Champion Protection Dogs we believe that a protection dog should have certain innate traits;  A good protection dog should be intelligent, strong and social.  All of our dogs are hand picked and are registered with the Kennel Club.  We only choose dogs that score very highly in our selection process and all of our dogs undergo thorough physical exams including hip x-rays before their training begins.  We strive to provide the highest quality dogs therefore our rigorous selection process is very specific and a key factor in our training programs.  During the training of our dogs we are very careful to feed only the highest quality foods and ensure a clean environment for the dogs to live, work and play in.  Our training facility and grounds are second to none and offer many different environments for the training of our dogs.

Not only does our training program include agility, obedience and protection exercises, also includes extensive environmental and human socialization which is essential to insure that our  protection dogs be comfortable in all situations. A dog that has experienced many things, met many people and has worked in many different contexts is not phased by new or unexpected situations.  We believe that a dog that is healthy mentally and physically makes a better dog therefore all of our dogs are raised and trained as if they were our personal dogs without exception.    We insure that our dogs get plenty of exercise and also have time to play.  We believe that our dogs deserve only the best therefore we work and train hard but also understand the importance of “down time”.
